Hi all and thanks for the great read found in this community. I’ve been fighting with this brown algae issue for a while now, my tank is about 5 months old. Nitrate stable around 15, alk around 7, phosphates near zero but struggling to increase it, protein skimmer in action… not sure what my best course of action is. 90g total system, mostly SPS and some fish and anemones. Hermits snails and 1 emerald crab, one urchin one schrimp. TYIA!

My thought on cause would be lack of flow in that corner, the one powerhead probably shoots right above it. It looks like it's a build up of detritus in that corner too, I would work on a siphon schedule as well as increasing CUC.

OK I will realign my head so see if it can help. What CUC would you recommend?

You might need to add another head.
What does your CUC consist of now? Number of hermits and snails? (along with the shrimp and urchin obviously)

Yea you might want to look into some more hermits and snails.
Siphon up what's there now, Add a few more CUC, adjust your pump flow, see what happens.

What are the recommended heads these days @JTP424 ?
That's up to you and budget!
What you have is a nice one, maybe a second one of a smaller size on the other end pointing the other way? Just something to keep a little movement over there :)
