I have I believe what is an Anthelia coral in a tank that I have adopted. It was doing really well and thriving and growing and spreading. It all of the sudden seems to be withering and dieing and falling apart. We've had a few cold snaps after a heating elemen malfunction, but that's since been stabilized. The chemical levels appear to be good. I'm doing a water change tonight as I missed my usual one last weekend to see if that helps. But would there be any other reason that I should look into what's happening???

Do you have a picture of your coral as well as tank parameters/info?

I have some anthelia and it seems to be pretty hardy and grows readily even with higher nutrients (50-100ppm NO3 and 0.5 PO4) Ive got it higher up in the tank where it gets good light and flow.

I don't have a current picture at the moment, but I'll post one after the water change this evening.

Here are some photos, as far levels the color chart said around ph 8, and near 0 ppm on the other stuff. I'm still new at figuring that part out

Definitely looks like anthelia. If your Nitrates and Phosphates are at or near 0 then thats probably a big factor. An easy way to bring those up would be to feed more food and see how the anthelia reacts over the next few days.

I've actually been working on increasing the feeding lately. Did another test and the ammonia levels might be a little high. I think the hiding goby isn't hiding. Hopefully the water change can help balance things out and it can bounce back.

This one needs nutrients but assure medium flow, salinity 1.024-1.025 and phosphates not highly elevated
