Definitely a car freak! Here's my favorite one; although I don't get to drive it near as much as I want to due to the limited seating options :(

Cameron, whats your tire size and gearing? what have you built it for? drag, circuit, autox? or just street fun?

The tires are Nitto 555R Drag Radials, and I haven't touched the gears. Every now and then we take it to the drag strip, but haven't been in a while, it's mostly just a nice Sunday car, or my wife and I take it out on date nights. I used to go to all of the local cruise nights and street race before I grew up, but that was years ago. Everything Maximum Motorsports makes is on the car, subframe connectors, k member brace, strut brace, pretty much everything I could get from them. It has a roll cage now, and I put KW Variant 3 coilovers on it and have them tightened all the way down. It isn't very smooth, but it sure can take a corner :)

ok so cornering is important to you lol I was gonna suggest a minitub and wider tires. still could depending on your setup but itll definitely take away from your cornering ability. I like the nitto 555r, but prefer the neogen for a street car. if youre not actively racing it, just a little fun now and then and you want it to be streetable you could drop the gears a bit. guessing you've got 4.10:1 factory? maybe swap to a 3.55:1 with a lsd? weve got 4.56:1 in the demon and with the help of the full tub we can put the power down but turning is a nightmare. I think with your car 3.55s with a quality LSD or even a Detroit true-trac locker would be perfect. weve got the true-trac in the demon and it helps a lot. its a limited slip/locker hybrid.

My first baby til a motorcycle almost took me out.

Now I drive a '15 WRX [emoji173]️
I'll have to get pics of her tomorrow.

Ya, it's more of just a fun car. They're 4.10:1, which isn't bad. I had plans to autox the car, just got caught up with life. My boss has a new Z28, the track Camaro. He keeps inviting me to go race with him, but I think it's only cause I beat him pretty bad in a drag race one night and he wants to make up for it. I have 315's on it, which I had to roll the fenders to make fit, but I've thought about going bigger if I ever make it back to the drag strip.

Man I put in so much time (and $) modding my Jetta that I'm afraid to even start on my subie.

yeah 4.10 isn't a bad gear set, but 3.55 wouldn't take much away from your car, but would improve the streetability of the car. would allow you to put the power down better, and allow for harder acceleration out of the corners. its give and take in that regard lol youd probably run a full second slower in an all out drag, but the trade off is faster lap times and harder accel because you wont be spinning the tires as easily. and trading out for a better set of tires would give you even more grip on take off. I like the neogen because theyre a great all around performance tire. work great for drag, but the amount of grip for cornering is insane. even the sidewalls are meant to give some grip as the tires flex from side to side in the turns. its truly an amazing tire. I just always hated swapping tires because of the price.

04 WRX full stage 2. Trying to find a way to silence the turbo so I can swap hood and trunk and look and sound like regular Impreza. 330 to the ground ATM. After turbo upgrade will be around 450

@ca2or how is your waste setup on your tubo? bov? waste gate? or recirculation back to the airbox? theres ways to make a bigger turbo quieter, maybe not silent but quieter. ive only seen 3 setups in my life where someone wanted their turbo silent and it was no simple fix for them. 1 made a custom muffler that fed off the BOV, then put sound deadening mats all around his turbo and turbo side of the engine. could still be heard but not if you weren't listening for it. the other had it recirculate back to his air box, once again very liberal with the sound deadening mats. not sure how the 3rd guy did it. it was obviously a turbo car but you couldn't tell when he was just driving normal, you could hear it on the top end but not low.

Dtackett, I'll have to check em out. I'm about due for new tires anyways. I seem to go through them almost as fast as a tank of gas :)

lol the neogens are good. they last a little while too, even with "aggressive" driving habits. they look horrible on a car like the demon though lol that's why I run mickey Thompson street radials. they've got an oldschool look to them. but the neogens are designed for more aggressive driving with a true all around performance tire. it doesn't stand out in any certain category, but its effective in every category... except rain and snow lol

Rain and snow happen to be two of the times I will never be seen driving my car. It's never been through the rain, I don't even get the canvas wet when I was her haha
