Any chance this LOBO will bounce back????!!

Just picked up this lobo from a lfs, and it seems to be doing well until last night. I had checked my magnesium and it was low 1200. Not sure if that was the issue but it’s getting worse.
I shaded it with a black plastic grill, on sand bed. Doesn’t seem to inflate
PH 8.3/8.4
Mag 1400
Alk 14
Calcium 420
I would need to recheck my nitrates and phosphate levels as I just did water change.

Also seems to be a small head popping up from base of frag. I thought lobo split but is it possible for them to grow polyps from base as well (see pic with circle) ???? If so I’ll keep the frag even if the larger polyps die off.

Alk is really high!!! Natural seawater is around 7 BTW.

I’m using red sea coral salt so it’s a no touch factor. All other coral are thriving besides lobo which was just added
