Not me. No NoPox. I'm actually dosing phosphates. I do dose Vinegar for carbon but only a very small amount and I don't notice any changes.

@Thuan @Kasrift @AKL1950 @wes84 I know @billyocean isn't using NoPox and I'm pretty sure he isn't carbon dosing. You people do any?

Never dosed carbon. I used to run a bag of carbon in the sump every other week, but i think it was causing my iodine to deplete. Stopped doing it and iodine stays more stable. If the sump starts getting the Bannana River smell, I’ll float a bag of carbon for a week but haven’t had to for a long time.

I don't dose nopox or any specific phosphate reducer. I just switched back to using Tropic Marine Bio Actif Salt which has carbon dosing elements in it. I found it kept my phosphates lower, I'm currently at .16 after using a 148 gallon bucket of Aquaforest salt where before it would always be below .1.

I do… I’ve always used vodka but switched to bacto balance after seeing Sunny x sucsess on his bacteria driven systems.

Positives it keeps your nutrients very low and water clarity crystal clear.

Negatives, it can and will bottom out your nutrients if you don’t test, test, test to find a Maintence dose. Also reports of cyano but I haven’t crossed that bridge myself.

No carbon dosing for me but im.not against it. I've seen plenty of beautiful systems that do. Mine just works out the way it is and I have to dose n03 and p04. I'm naturally trending towards bottoming out already. My tank has socks and rocks with no skimmer or fuge as the means of filtration and still have to dose. That's what keeps me from it.

Tropic Marin Elimi-NP here, but have Bacto-Balance in the wings if my PO4 ever gets down to “normal” ranges. I use it to mainly “feed” The system.

I used to dose elimi-np. It worked well keeping my nitrates and phosphates down but i stopped when my refugium/weekly 10% wc started keeping my nitrates and phosphates in my preferred range

I’m running a mix of bacto balance and nopox because I haven’t been able to keep PO4 down. Nopox alone tanks my nitrates to zero. Using the combo has kept nutrients stable and I’m hoping PO4 will keep falling as my ATS matures. I’m thinking PO4 is still leaching from rocks etc. They were poorly controlled for a while.

Currently I’m around 10-13 NO3 and .1-.2 PO4.

Does the 2 , eliminate np and bacto balance , can you dose the same dose “ or how does that work if you need to switch

I believe you can switch by using the same amount, but you can reduce the dose for bacto-balance a little when you make the switch. The key is testing after you make the switch. Here's a thread that discusses the switch....
