Yeah it suprises me how many people own a guitar but don't actually play. My favorite app for tuning is Guitar Tuna. It sure is exciting when all of the chords start coming together.
I was that guy for a few months. I was given an old classical guitar a few years back, but I never had the time to start so I gave it to someone else.

Thanks for the suggestion on the app. I’ll check it out.

Today I’m feeling good about learning the E A and D chords. I’m working on transitioning from chord to chord now. When the chord sounds right, I do get a warm fuzzy feeling.

I played drums as a youth, but once I started a family, too much noise, so I switched to guitar. I have a Fender Tele and Strat, and Guild acoustic. I play the acoustic the most because it's right there asking to be played. But dig the fenders when I have time.. Drums is my first love, but guitar is pretty freakin cool.

I play a Taylor acoustic and a Gretsch Jet electric. I mostly enjoy rock and roll and songs that sound good on acoustic. Beatles, Petty, Neil young , stuff like that. A lot of open chords and cool strumming patterns.

I’ve been playing on and off for about 10 years. I almost exclusively play modern metal but I have a Taylor 714ce cedar I keep around for folk and bluegrass. I’m a huge fan of Taylor and Ernie Ball. They both make easy to play, quality factory instruments!

Drummer. 50yrs plus. Still play daily. Everyone plays guitar. I can never find a bass player.
My best friend from H.S. is a bass player, he was in a lot of bands...and he plays guitar too. In one of his newer bands he was doing the vocals and guitar and letting others handle the back of the stage, lol. Although he can also play drums.

I wanted a Les Paul but it was a bit more dough than I had at the time. The Gretsch has the same scale length and dual humbuckers, plus it just feels good, so i went with it. I run it through a Boss Super Overdrive pedal and a Vox tube amp and it sounds very rock n roll. I wish I had gone for the model with the Bigsby, but I'm still happy.

Eddie Van Halen I most certainly am not ! But I do love to play, even though I have barely even made it out of first position yet. I have a Taylor 6 and 12 string in the house, and a Washburn 6 string out in my shop. As they are all acoustic electric, they sound exceptionally good when played through the amplifiers.
