I rifle hunt. But I just got me a bow. Hoping to get a deer with it this year. Season opened the first. Havnt had time to get out yet. Got my first buck last year.

I was just debating trying small game on local public land that I already fish on as almost no one hunts rabbits and squirrels and they are abundant and the rabbits stay in the open too. Maybe if I don't go to USMA then I will get an NY hunting licence and learn for next season.

I sit here waiting for my son to finish up his virtual education ;Wacky then we are headed up for the youth Deer hunt.
I think Im more exited than he is, just a great time to got out there. Good luck y'all on the upcoming season

Good job siggy! Keep those youngins outdoors as much as possible.
My son just signed up for the trap/skeet team at school. Very happy about that.
He'll be doing the youth deer hunt this weekend, and then we have the youth waterfowl hunt next weekend.

Yup. I shoot a fair amount or rabbits and each and every one is infested with fleas. if you are hunting with a dog, make sure they are up on their flea/tick treatments. If its cold out, you can hang the rabbits in a tree until the fleas jump off before processing them. Doesn't work so well when its still warm out though.

Swamp donkey is ssoooo goooodddd!! Best venison I have ever had. Killed mine in Newfoundland . Caribou is pretty good too.
I have a prairie next to our house that keeps rabbit populations pretty healthy. I keep the cats in check that show up from who knows where. I kill a couple rabbits late winter so no fleas.
Try picking up an early season woodduck or teal. Watch the lice crawl up your arms. Yuck!

Was gonna say Mathews. I shoot a Mathews Heli-m...little older but super lite. Friend of mine has an Obsession bow. Those are insane. You can draw and hold forever it seems like

Waterfowl season just opened. Yay!
Got a limit of wood ducks on Saturday, and almost a limit of mallards on Sunday. Season is off to a good start! My dog is in heaven.

I used to live and breathe hunting. Now I have absolutely no patience for it. I can remember the last day I hunted , I emptied 2 boxes of 270 into a tree stump. Ain’t been back since. Don’t know why, the passion just went away.

I hunt mainly waterfowl with some upland game and every now and again deer and boar.

I still hunt but no friends to hunt with anymore☹.
Went last weekend and walked for 2.5 hours for one, lol. Good to be outdoors though.
Hard to get up quail without a dog too.
