Anybody pull out conchs from their substrate

I have a fitting conch that hasn’t emerged from the sand in about 4 months, does anybody lift their conchs out from the sand just to make sure there ok? I know this is normal behavior for conchs but still, would it bother him if I did it?

I have 3 tiger conches and I move them around when I siphon the sand weekly, no bad effects on them

I pull mine out of the sand if they aren't doing their jobs. One of mine likes to bury herself right beside the den of my pistol and has more than once been made part of a retaining wall. She just sticks her snout up every so often to clean the rock beside her ignoring the rest of the sand bed.
Now she gets moved once or twice a week to a dirty area and she slowly cleans her way back to her old spot... You figure she'd have learned her lesson from having her shell snipped by the pistol but nooo.

Also remember some conches go out when lights go out so they might be feeding at nighttime

I occasionally toss my conches also when sifting sand. Give it a few days, it will be on the move again. I had one disappear for weeks and it returned. It's normal.

I have strawberry lipped conch, it's very active day and night, I think it's about 1 and half inch small, how big are yours and how old, this is great information for me to learn more as mine grows thanks

I used to take mine out and clean the shell once in a while. Until one day when I dug him out and he slimed the entire tank and hopped around like a frog... took me hours to clean the slime mess. Now I leave them be. I'm getting ready to transfer everything from that tank to a new larger tank and they will be the very last things I take out.

I’ve noticed that when they die, they turn upside down. So as long as they’re face down they should be alive and OK.

My fighting conch I’ve had about 1 year and my strawberry I’ve had shorter than that. I fixed my fighting conch, I will not move him anymore I don’t think, he’s just lazy.

What do u mean fixed, sorry, I caught my hermit crab chasing my conch the other night, I moved hermit to keep the peace but think my conch along with shell is on menu :(

Didn’t really fix anything but my question has been answered for my conch, dude I would move ur hermit crab because I have heard terrible things happening to conchs from hermit crabs. He will get eaten.

Yes, I have read and researched, if he gets/ starts bullying more I will consider alternative's, they ok at the moment,, I have plenty of shells for all so no problems.. hopefully :)
Some of my crabs fight/ piggy back but nothing lost
