Anyone ever build an ecotech led clone?

Ive started to research making a diy led fixture. I've never owned an ecotech but I think what makes it so popular is that all of the colors are controllable, this doesnt seem difficult-just add more drivers. Then the ecotech uses a special lens, im not sure how this would compare to the individual lens that we can purchase but for the savings it may be something worth losing. I have an apex, i havent researched how the ecotech is controllable through it but would be nice to be able to use the same controls. But, i would assume the ecotech has an intermediate controller recieving signal from the apex and then sending out to the separate drivers. Diy may have to rely on the individual 1-10v to controle each driver
