I was gonna say the same thing. Usually gone and stay gone. I had a few wrasses that would dissapear for a week or 2. But never a year. Wow

My girlfriend has apparently had a neon dottyback in her 75 gallon for longer than we have been dating and it suddenly appeared today. It has been out and swimming around like it's always been there. She didn't even remember having it. I'm really not sure where it's been hiding, it's about 4 inches long. She had had a number of small fish since we've been together, 2 chromis, 4 damsels and a blend that have all mysteriously disappeared 1 by 1 but her bigger fish remained untouched. I'm wondering if the dottyback hasn't been killing them the whole time.

Oh, I almost forgot, she did an almost total makeover on her aquascape a few weeks ago and it didn't even come out during that.

...and she doesn't have any friends who are into elaborate pranks?

She is still confused, she actually thinks I went out, bought a fish and put it in her tank just to mess with her.

Yep. Last week my swalesi basslet popped out to say hi. I hadn't seen him in months. He's fat as a pig!

I'm not sure how this fish was even eating and it looked healthy. If it's still out today when I get home I'll get a pic.

I recently found my missing gramma. Thought he jumped out 9 months ago. Found him last week in my over flow!!! He’s been living it about 4” of water for 9 months some how!!
Oh, my cardinal pajama fish has been missing for 3 weeks. When I get home I'm going to take a peek in there. Doubt it went in cuz I cover it, but we'll see.

Reading these posts make me laugh and also give me hope.

One of my Kupang Damsels has been missing for about two months. We figure he just died and broke down in to our system. Actually made me feel good that the system is stable enough not to make the chemistry of the system spike.

Maybe just maybe he will show up in a few months like nothing happened.

I thought my yellow watchman had died, looked everywhere for weeks. Finally bought a new one and as soon as the new one was acclimated & let out of the bag-out of nowhere comes the lost one to attack him! I, of course immediately removed the new one and took him back to the LFS. :)
