I am considering starting a gig dedicated tank either 36x36 or 30x30 and maybe 20" or less in depth. Anyone keeping a shallow gig tank?

Love to see some pics if you keep a gig or more than one in the shallow of a tank.

hi, @Eagle_Steve ? got nems...
All I have in a shallow tank right now is merten and rbta. Tank is 7’x3’x1’.

Plan to do a crap ton when they become available in large quantities.

@OrionN has gigs in what you could consider shallow, as it is his sump.

Here is my merten.

And my other 180 with a ton of nems and one deciding to poo in the pic lol.

I have a gig in a 20” deep tank. Not as a “gig tank” really, but I have one.

Does it really matter if it’s a shallow vs taller tank? Gigantea are rock dwellers. Majority of the time it really depends on how high you stack your rock. And if they are at the bottom on the floor, will depend how strong your lighting is.

Mine is on a 21” tall but 8” from surface.

Thanks for all the pics. I want a manageable size tank of around 30x30x20 to set up as a gig species tank. From what you posted, looks doable.

Hi John - is that a eurobraced tank? How does your gig like LEDS?

They seem to do great...... wish I were able to keep other things alive, but Anemones, Torches, and shrooms seem to be my specialty.

Tank is eurobraced acrylic.
