Anyone keeping Acropora nobilis?

Acropora nobilis, the classic staghorn coral. I know these are rare since collection from the wild for this species is illegal, but there is the Bali aquacultured variety that is perfectly legal. I'm looking for succes stories with these, water parameters, par levels, and any other relevant details.

Used to have a stag...not sure on the specifics...it grew well with normal parameters for acros

There are a handful of real thick branch staghorns that are cool, but unfortunately, we see very few of them here in the US versus abroad.

That looks like Acropora loisetteae to me. Long thin branching staghorn variety.

Looking at Corals of the World, it appears this is now called Acropora intermedia. I think I may have a small colony of this. I’ll see if I can get a pic.

Not sure if this is nobilis, but it’s been growing in my system for 10 years and I took out a 2’x2’ section 3 years ago which has already grown back.

Not sure it's nobilis or not, in white light it's so solid purple, i'll take the photo in white light soon,
It's quite hard to compare with other stag, so slow grower.

abrotaniodes and robusta are very similar. nobilis/intermedia looks similar to formosa.

WoRMS database shows it as synonymized with robusta. (formosa is also a synonym of muricata) Looking at the sources, it seems to have been synonymized in 1902. The type illustration shows it as with thick branches, similar to robusta.

Many of Veron's species concepts aren't reflected by the type specimens. I wouldn't trust his species concepts unless he actually described the species.

Thanks for all the input, putting A. nobilis aside whats a good source for staghorn acropora in general? These are the only acros I really love the look of and would be interested in keeping. So a good place to buy some would be great.
