First two pictures are from today. I had my lens for my phone with me. The other pictures are from a couple days ago. It was later in the day too I believe. But it’s definitely the same coral the LFS wasn’t really sure what it was.

Do you own this? If so, it’s a moseleya! Congrats! An easy to care for and relatively rare and hard to find lps. Mine started as single head on a mug and it appears new heads grow from the underside and make their way upwards

I told myself if it was still there when I went in today I was buying it so yes, it was still there and yes, I bought it. It was $40 and I had a $10 off coupon for the store.

The center mouth can expand and contract and even has feeding tentacles. Tends to show the mouth during the day but opens it at night, or if you tease it with food. It’s a vibrant bright green and can get some color streaks, mine is developing short yellow stripes

I have a MP40 above it with CONSTANT updraft. The pump runs around. 10 min at 60% then runs around 10 min pulsing on and off every second.

I would consider this a high flow area, but it’s not direct flow and not getting blasted by the pump. It’s in the bottom of a gyre for me and I would say it’s high gentle random flow if that makes sense.

You can feed these pellets, flake, mysis. Mine eats everything I’ve tried. Only feed 2x a week, it needs to digest and expel waste before it feeds again. Or don’t feed, it’s optional and will do fine off light.

Moseleya latistellata, an Australian endemic. I've seen them in intertidal habitats in Western Australia, so they should be able to withstand pretty intense lighting.

So quick, Reed said they have some pretty long sweeper tentacles. Have you found that to be true as it attacked any of your nearby calls corals?

I’m gonna have to figure out place to put it now. I’m running out of room.

I haven't seen any sweepers from mine, just feeding arms

Who is Reed?

I’ve never seen sweepers. And I have mine near a large Lobo, and have had scolymia and Cynarina right next to it before I rearranged some things. Only have seen feeders around the mouth about 1/2” - 3/4” long

I swear, my phones spell check and auto correct have gone absolutely crazy. Seems to have started a few months ago. I’ve been using iPhones since iPhone 3 and I’ve never seen the auto correct as bad as it is lately.
