So I have this strange spot in my sand on my nano. For a while I just thought it was a thinner grade of sand turned over by my conch. Today it just looked really really white and when I touched it its squishy and like black under it and most decidedly NOT sand like I thought. Anyone have any ideas?

The black and white both looks like sponges to me - it’s not super common to find them growing on the sand like this, but it does happen occasionally. They’re most likely harmless filter feeders.

Probably a sponge. Nothing to worry about.
