Is anyone here running a 300w Viparspectra on a 40 breeder? If so, what are your settings? Thanks in advance!

I've got a 300W Mars on a 50 with a similar footprint to a 40B, just a bit taller. I know it's not the same light, but they seem similar enough. I've had great results with it so far since I added it back in Sept/Oct. I've got it set at 30% on the whites and 50% on the blues but I was coming from an Orbit so I started out at 20 on each and ramped up to that over about a month. I've got Duncan, Candy Cane, cloves, zoas, shrooms, leather, and two montis that are all doing great under it.

Thanks! I have been using it for a few months now. I have good growth, but also have bleaching going on with some corals that doesn't seem to slow down with dropping the light levels.

Did you ever get your lighting figured out. I have a 40B with 300W as well. I have it 12in above water. I'm having algae problems and unhappy Zoa's. I'm lost on where to set it. I have the whites all the way down and blues at 50.

That Visparspectra pushes a TON of light, 300watts on a 40g outta fry your corals above 30%.
I might go 20 blue and 5 white.

At 14” above water at 100% blue and 10% white, measured 600par right underneath, so way over lit.

I ended up switching to a 90 gallon. Everything is much happier. Even with the lights and flow dialed way down I was having issues. It was all just overkill for equipment.
