Anyone seen this before?

Here is my monster lobo. I love this guy. I've never seen one like it before. Seems to be doing great. The past week I've noticed one side has white "banding". I am not sure if it's good or bad but definitely curious if anyone on here has seen this happen to any of their lps before.

The front of the lobo there in the pic. You can see where on the thick portion, white bars are appearing. Spaced about 1/2" apart.

yea check alk, also is it right under your lights? I have had acans bleach a single color if right under lighting, or too high in the tank

it looks healthy to me but white is not a good color for coral. i have noticed with some lps depending on lighting and tank conditions colors will change some

Lobo's have mouths, is that what you are referring to? Kinda looks like the mouth is open and trying to get something to eat. Try to target feed it, it's pretty cool to watch them eat.

The white bands could indicate the Lobo is bleaching. Mine did the same due to too much light. I moved it to a shady spot and the white is going away and the color is returning.

I may have to do that . I only have my sols set for 50,60, 60 for 5 hours a day, and it took me a couple months to work my way up to that. I even changed all lenses to 70 deg optics. It's such a big lobo I don't have a big enough shaded area. Looks like I may need to rescape the tank!

Is it considered bleaching if I've had this guy for about 3 months now? Not much has changed since I've got him as far as lighting intensities are considered besides the usual acclimation to the light. I've read that if the light isn't intense enough LPS can start to turn white slowly as well. My light is 12" off the water surface and the lobo is aprox 24" below the waters surface. thoughts?

Alright so I've done a few things. First off I purchased a GFO/Carbron Reactor from BRS. Gonna start dosing slowly with GFO due to my Phosphates >.25ppm per testing. This will start to combat my brown and green algae. Second. I have started ramping up my AI SOLS to improve coloring in my LPS. I have closed brain on the bottom of my tank aprox 36" from lights. W 75% B75% RB 80%. going to keep them all at 80%. I have all lenses set to 70 deg lenses to have even spread.

Here's my problem while my closed brain coral had browned most likely due to lack of PAR from my lights being set so low, my Large orange carpet LOBO next to it seems to have be thinning and been slowly bleaching well before I turned up the lights. While the closed brain is starting to green up again in the past week, the LOBO seems to be doing worse. I'm in a dilema here both corals are LPS in the same spot (next to eachother), yet one is browning due to lack of light and the other slowly bleaching? Do some LPS lose zooanthelle and bleach slowly over a period of months like mine if they're not getting enough UV? I never fed my LOBO thinking it was getting enough light until recently. I now just have begun feeding Brine Shrimp and using Reef Chilli.

THOUGHTS? Any help would be beneficial.

from what I've read online and from others now is, LPS bleach quickly (few days) should they be under too high of lighting. My circumstances have been going on for over a month now and slowly. My hypothesis right now is the LPS wasnt getting enough UV/PAR and since I haven't fed until recently it was fading. I Could totally be wrong. Just thought if should it be bleaching from too high of light that 1: it would have happened rapidly and 2. My other LPS especially my closed brain which sits right next to my LOBO would be feeling the same effects.
