Has anyone tried these before? It says marine compatible but you never know!

I have not used that particular brand; however I use Eheim brand ceramic bio media in my canister filter on my reef tank. The ceramic media coupled with the live rock rubble I also have in there, I feel has provided plenty of bio filter capability for the tank. I feed pretty heavy and feel the filtration keeps up just fine.

I wouldn't chance it. I had used 5 Marine Pure bricks. I had no problems with it but there was a time period where there was reports of leach aluminum. It was possible that those individuals could have purchased from Ebay, amazon, etc blocks that weren't from Marine Pure and that is why it could have been leaching aluminum.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
