As the title says curious if anyone is using the autoaqua smart doser 2 and if so thoughts on it? Can’t find a lot of info on it. But what I have found were mixed reviews and only a few, . Some love it, some say it leaks and doesn’t prime etc. looking for a simple easy to use but also app interface doser for 2 part that doesn’t break the bank. Also looked at the simplicity and while it doesn’t work through an app it does seem easy to use however I don’t really need 4 ports, the autoaqua intrigues me with the hang in the sump bracket etc,

I use the Chihiros. Very reasonably priced and comes in 2 and 4 head. I use the 4 head on my nano. The set up is easy and the app is the same. Might want to check them out.
I’ll check them out. Is the app fairly easy to use? Never used a doser as I’ve always manually dosed my w part. so would like easy and accurate as possible but also intuitive. Only needing to dose 15ml a day of b-ionic alk and calcium. Thank you for the suggestion!

What size tubing did you buy or did you get the whole kit? Read some reviews. Seem well made overall but some folks have issues with with priming or air ….any issues you have encountered?

I have never had problems with any part of their kit and used what was supplied. Super easy to set up app and to set up your doser heads dosing as needed. I trust it and that's about all I can say. I know nothing about any other doser's on the market. I don't know how thick the product's you want to dose are but I will tell you that the tubes have a very small inside diameter. I only dose thin liquids for N03, P04, and KH.

I looked into them a while back. I don't remember exactly what the issue was but memory (which is questionable) is there were some concerns that the minimum amount able to be dosed was in question and negative for those dosing very small amounts which probably wouldn't be an issue using one for two part. I use a reefdose two and love the doser and the app but they sre pricey. I've had decent luck with kamoer individual dosers also. Just tossing out options.

Just dosing and the b-ionic 2 part alk and calcium. My dose is small (15 ml daily for each)

Thanks for the input, I did look at the reef dose but was hoping to keep it under 200

I'm running one to dose AFR and Brightwell's coral inertia NRG into a 400~ gallon system. Its been running the AFR for a month now with no issues and the NRG for a week. Minor complaints; you cant set your dosing at a specific time, and theres no option to set up specific days - so its an every day or nothing kind of doser. After watching a few of their videos its obvious that thats by design though, they wanted to make something that was approachable for people who didnt want to program a bunch of set points. I haven't had to rely on the sensor in it yet to tell me to refill my dosing containers, but if it works as intended its a nice feature as we've all had those busy weeks where we just neglect to check things like that. All in all its a pretty nice dosing pump, especially considering its price point. I've used the cheap jebao dosing pumps from 10 years ago, DoS, vectra, bubblemagus, smartreef - this thing works as good as any of them for just simple dosing and was very straight forward to set up. The priming issues and leaking issues are almost certainly all user error. I've encountered both, and both were my fault. The tubing really needs a good clean cut to seal up to the push connect fittings well which is where I encountered a leak, and the tubing needs a bit more force than you would think when pushing it into the connectors to lock in which is where I encountered the priming issue when setting the first head up. If they push a firmware update giving us some more advanced programming abilities I wouldn't hesitate to buy a bunch of the 4 head pumps for things I need dosed on a more irregular schedule.

Thank you, I read you mentioned you can’t set the times but does decide the times for you and does it split your dose up into multiple dose throughout the day? Also does it delay dose like one for all and the other calcium to be done different times? I assume by your comparisons to others that is is as accurate is the ones you mentioned when dosing?

Thank you again for the info

Hope you don’t mind me asking but if you have your Chihiros dosing ml set to 5ml for example and need to change it to 8ml do you have to recalibrate or does it do it automatically?

I test my water every Sat. and if needed I adjust up and down by just going to the dose amount and changing it. Save it and your good to go. No recalibration needed. It also automatically spreads the dosing out during the day for you. You can also do changes to the days you want to dose. It's so easy even I can do it. lol

I just found this thread. I'm curious if any of you have run into issues with your Smart Doser.

I bought one last November and brought it online in mid January. I was dosing 18 ml of AFR on line 1 and 6 ml of Mg on line 2. The unit failed a few days ago. I pulled it apart and there is a leak at the line one pinch roller assembly. It stopped running because the AFR dripped onto the wall wart socket. After I cleaned it up, it works but obviously needs a new line 1 pump assembly. I'll be contacting Auto Aqua to see what they say this week.

If you're curious what the guts of the doser look like, I have some shots of it apart starting with this post and talk about the issue a few posts back from that.

Anyway, I'm trying to determine if it is just a manufacturing defect or a larger issue with longevity. I really like the doser and would like to get a second one for another tank but three and a half months isn't a great life cycle.

I wanted to follow up as I believe Auto Aqua deserves some credit for their support.

I contacted Auto Aqua through their support page today, Saturday, and received a response in less than an hour. They offered to either have me send the unit to them for repair or send me the pump assembly for me to replace. I opted to replace it myself. Another email to send them a copy of my receipt. Done. It is probably the fastest and easiest warranty repair I've ever had (except the old Craftsman tools). Well done Auto Aqua.

I have the 4 head. It does good a good job, I like the empty bottle alerts. My main complaint is it’s pretty loud. Also I’m hoping with some firmware updates in the future will let you fine tune alittle more Va their schedule.
