I received an Apex El for Christmas this past year. Finally set it up today and have been trying for over two hours now to update to the latest AOS. It downloads and acts as if it's updating but when it's finished it still says I need that update what am I doing wrong?

I have watched the following video three different times and have everything step by step.

I am using a Chromebook not sure if that matters. My Apex Fusion has a different layout but when I go to reset the controller it does the different colors like on the video but that's the only thing it does.

I initially had my controller connected hardwired into the internet. After about half-an-hour of stumbling around managed to switch it on Wi-Fi and still no luck on updating

Have you tried a long reset? Push pin in the back for 20 seconds. Then restart initial setup procedures.
