I have a AP700 over a marine 60.2 waterbox tank so 24 inches wide and I have that hanging about 7 inches above the glass what do people suggest for intensity as I can’t find a par meter to rent right now due to the covid-19?

I'd try 50 - 60% at that height.

Nice scape!!, have you cycled yet?

Yes I’ve cycled I did it separately with those bio bricks and the tank was immediately ready worked out great
And are you sure 50% even 1% seems to high

This may help, but their pushing at 100% intensity

I like the 2nd and 3rd of the deepest blue settings, but ramp on and off at the deepest blue

So should I run 50% for a mixed reef

You've got a new reef, that is going to go thru many changes (like the uglies) until it matures.

So I'd do 30% for the time being, and rent a par meter from BRS when one comes available.

I did a chart on my AP700's... might be of help to you. The tank has two rock 'islands', shown in red. Readings are from the substrate surface, or the rock surface. Tank is 18" deep. 60" x 30" This chart was done with ONLY the two AP700's.

I've since mounted the AP700's in an Aquaticlife Hybrid unit, adding 4 x 54w T5's to the system. It flattened the lighting curve tremendously, and increased average PAR by about 90 across the board.

Check your local reef shop or club, there may be a community par tester available locally.

Not certain what you're asking... What percent was the test run with? The intensity buttons on the AP700 have 5 settings. I'm referring to them as 2/5, 3/5, 4/5 and Full power. Ran the same test at each setting (except Low).

I suppose, percentage wise, that'd be 40, 60, 80, and 100, though I don't have any idea how those power levels relate to wattage.

I'm afraid I don't use the Kessel App. Too unstable.

Grey B,
I know this is Kookie...;Wacky , but i run the latest iphone app on a ipad / Direct Connect

lol
The app is smaller than the ipad's screen, but it is stable and connects every time on the first shot, if I need to make an change.

That android app is terrible at connecting... ;Facepalm

Sorry, the problem isn't just the app. I've got two AP700's. Get 'em synced, so they run on a single schedule, which is a nightmare to do... and the next power outage blows up the configuration.

Nope. I've got mine locked in manual mode, and if I need to adjust the intensity or color, I do it with the buttons on the unit. Turn 'em on and off by normal power control from my Apex. I'm fine with this method, not willing to deal with the frustration of trying Kessel's horrid software again.

I'm an industrial software engineer. I'd be embarrassed if I released something that flaky.

Actually I’ve had a really good time with the app a little frustrated at the end but when I got it down it worked perfectly and any changes I need are simple to do I also have it linked to the apex as a fallback just in case

40-50% is what i recommend for a mixed tank. SpS should be placed at mid to upper tank.
I had a similar set up.
