So I bought a used 1/4 jbj chiller

The debate is keeping the chiller always turned on vs my apex turning on and off every 40-1hour

Would the apex shorten the life expectancy of the chiller by turning it on and off several times through out the day ?

Yes constant on off will hurt a unit like chiller. You can give apex a range of few degrees so it's not a constant on or off all the time but it's still hurtful over time. I rather let chiller do it's own job. They don't go out in on like heaters. Most likely if chiller hoes out it will go out where it won't chill water anymore.

IF YOU HAD TO OPERATE EVERYTHING ELSE MANUALLY, WHICH AUTOMATED SYSTEM WOULD YOU KEEP?
