Apex cor 20 problems

I e had a cor 20 for about 2 years now. It is a stand alone without the main apex controller. About 3-4 weeks ago, my return pump has shut off out of the blue and when it tries to cycle back on, it starts to flow for about 2 seconds and then shuts off again. The only way I can get it back to its usual flow speed (50%), is to quickly turn the rate down as low as possible during those 2 seconds and it will then stay on and the lowest flow rate. I can then slowly ramp it back up to 50%. If I try to ramp it up to fast, it shuts off again.

Any ideas?
