I picked up a reeffactory ph meter but after 3 failed probes & little support from RF I've chucked it in the bin.
I'm starting a new tank build this summer & my mind is leaning towards apex.
I currently use hanna for kh, po4 & no3 & salifert for monthly mag & weekly cal checks which Im happy with so the only parameters I'd like to automate monitoring for are

*salinity
*temp
*ph

What's the cheapest route into this with apex?
Would a Jr be able to cover these or would I need to pick up an a3?

A jr will is capable of monitoring those three. Here is a good article comparing your options.....

It doesn’t have a salinity port. It would need a pm2 module and probe added to it to measure salinity. The only A3 that has the salinity port is the Pro and it doesn’t even include the probe.

If you are okay with buying used an old A2 (not the el version) is probably the cheapest way to get an apex that measures salinity. Also before salinity is the determining factor of which apex you buy do some reading about peoples experiences with their salinity probes. Many people, including me, have never been able to get reliable reading with heir salinity probes.

Correct......it is still capable of monitoring salinity though.
