So I have my apex setup and linked to my laptop. I then down loaded the android app to my phone and it seems to work ok in my home, but anytime I try to access it outside of my home network it doesn't work. I should be able to bring it up by typing in the apex's IP address correct??? It usually comes up not found :( What am I doing wrong here? Keep in mind I'm not very tech savvy...

This took me a couple of tries and researching to get this to work too. You have to set up port forwarding and open up a port on your router so that your phone can see your apex from outside your network. I use dyndns but it's not free. There are free ones out there. You will have to look for them. Once you set up port forwarding on your router, you can use dyndns to create a name for your router to point to. You will also need your outside IP address. You can find that out in whatsmyip.com. Once you set it up you should be able to login to your apex. Check out the apex forum. There are many people with screenshots in how to set this up. Wait till you set up the email alerts and wireless ip cameras. That's even more fun, but worth every minute of frustration once you get it working. Good Luck!
