Hi

Recently got my hands on an adaptive reef toggle box for the apex system. No issue in programming with instruction given and have set up the 4 buttons to trigger the same durations as the built in feed mode. Probably should have read more into this programming before I bought as I was originally under the assumption that the button could actually be used to trigger the built in feed cycles which does not appear to be the case. I can live with setting up the virtual outlet as recommend but they call for use of the Defer command and one thing now that I am trying to figure out is how to cancel the defer command if I wanted to end the virtual feed cycle early. My first sought was trying something like

If I hit the toggle switch to create a closed circuit then break the defer which would then allow the pumps to resume once the toggle was switch back to open circuit. But not having any luck

What was the solution?

Realize I never followed back up to this. I was never able to figure out a full proof method to this as I was unable to find a direct way to cancel defer and min commands directly. I did find a work around but abandoned it and just decided to take advantage of Alexa to controls for my feed modes since you can tell it to cancel and just reused the controller toggles and buttons for other uses which works out better. Because I hate the long drown out phrase of having to say “alexa ask apex fusion to” …. I just created routines to say “Alexa Feed A” to keep it simple

My work around however if any wants was to go that route was creating 4 virtual outlets for each feed. And defer each in intervals of 3 second. The first would turn on if I held the button for 3 second but less than 6. The next would turn on if I held for 6 but less than 9….. after I created a 5th for each and stacked the outlet to basically say

If first virtual of a is on turn on (3 second hold)
If 2nd virtual is on the turn off
(6 second hold)
If 3rd virtual is on then turn on
(9 second hold)
If 4th virtual is off then turn off
(12 second hold)

This basically allowed for one two activations and two cancelation on each feed button. However if you use both you will need to wait out the full defer before they all reset

But as mention due to having to time your self when pressing each time. I abandoned this
