API Ammonia false 0.25ppm

I have been stressing out for days because my API saltwater master test kits ammonia test has been showing 0.25ppm.

Today I was very glad to discover that if I look at it with any light but the tank(high actinic) its actually 0 and the 0.25ppm reading was from the excess blue light.


thought this may be a good lesson for any other users of this product out there

It's been well known that at those low ranges, API ammonia kits do this.
