Ok guys i've been reefing for 5 years and have had the ups and downs just like everyone. My last reef has been up for 2years and doing very well all of my coral lps sps and so on were kicking. Butt well about 6 months ago aptasia show up well I used kalk to kill it and to make a long story short it infested my reef I pulled all my coral out and I mean all and that is alot I had at least 40 different chalices 20 or so acro well in crusted I may add and count less zoos and pollys I took all of my live rock out put it out in the cold on a table for 2weeks then put it in water with a gallon of bleach let it set a week and then took all the rock out let it set out on the table again I was going to start with new substrate and cure the rock out side for now in a tub chang out water for a couple of weeks then put it back in my tank no coral just fish. Till all parameters are back and stable cal, alk, mag,ph and so on the? ??????????is aptasia gone or not should I just get new dry rock and start over and let this infectious rock just sun bake for a long time as all of you know this stuff has it's ways of living after nuclear fallout any long time reefers please chime in

it should be gone. I just let affected rock dry and it dies. Theres also something i bought...zaptasia i think it was.... it was this gel that blocks its mouth up and kills it

It should be dead in the rock, but be sure to closely inspect your corals before putting them back in to ensure that there aren't any on the skeletons or LR rubble/frag tiles

Thank you guys I have cut any of it off coral and frag tile plugs with a bandsaw so none would be on the coral. Or base of coral they have there ways to hide so I've kept good eyes on frags I think that it snuck in a on a frag some time ago from now on any coral will never hit my water till it has spent a week in a tank so I can see if there is any on it I dip coral but that's for pests.
