I saw this in my gulf live rock today and was about to go to war. Then I noticed the stripes on the tentacles and did a bit of research. Could it be a curlique? Sounds like a common hitchhiker from the gulf.

Can you get a pic under more white light? It does look like a curly que or could possibly be a warty anemone. Both can hitchhike on gulf live rock.

Also, check out this link. It is a good resource for looking things up from the gulf and Atlantic side of FL. As we all know, sometimes it is hard to get good pics lol. Comparing what you see to what is in these pics can make things a lot easier.

Looks like a curlyque based on the striations on the tentacles to me. I had one that got absolutely massive. Tentacles were about 1ft long when I finally gave him to my dad for his 180gal. He grew from about 2” long tentacles to that in my JBJ nanocube.

Thanks guys. I’ve loved the rock and so far haven’t gotten any hitchhikers off of it I wasn’t happy about. Was a bit sad that I had aptasia after being pretty careful. Still always a risk but I’d almost always like to live and let live if I can.
