So I’ve recently added another pulsing xenia to my reef aquarium and I’ve been seeing these light tanish kinda color looking tentacles pop out of the side of my pulsing Xenia foundation.

When I bought the Xenia it also had two tiny corals that were orange and growing on the side but I’ve noticed in between this tentacle looking things.

A question I have is have to/best way to possibly try to avoid it.

Will be uploading this tonight currently at 1:50Am so tomorrow morning when lights turn on I’ll will be following up with pictures of it.

Any Advice helps for ME/OTHERS
Please and thank you‼️

I suggest peroxide and a toothbrush. Or, if you want to be more confined then get a syringe and inject peroxide into objectional aptasia.

If at all possible, do the injection outside of the tank, and be careful not to get the peroxide on anything you want to survive. After it's done, scrape off the remains of the aiptasia, rinse it off, and then put back into the tank.

One of aiptasia's stress responses is to release planular larvae, which can sometimes evade our treatment attempts and result in the development of new baby aiptasia. If you can do the treatment outside of the tank that minimizes the chance of planular larvae escaping and spreading.

In addition to peroxide, kalkwasser paste, lemon juice, boiling water and a few other substances can also do the trick. Peroxide is nice in that it's very easy to both source and inject, and it's more potent than lemon juice. Once it's neutralized, it also has little impact on your water chemistry. Kalk and lemon juice will both slightly impact your pH, but unless you're treating a plague population the impact of dosing that way is basically none.
