Aptasia question

So I’m starting a new tank. I’m looking to transfer all my seasoned rock with acros on it to my new tank once I get it running. Only issue is I have a few aptasias on my old rocks. I know if you see a few, you got more. My question is should I just start with new dry rock all over again or just use my seasoned rock after I kill the aptasia I can see? How detrimental is aptasia really? And if I throw a dozen or so peppermint shrimps, should that help? I personally would rather use my seasoned rock but I don’t want to start behind the 8 ball to say.

Depends on how seasoned the rocks are.
If they are well matured, I’d hate to lose that.

Even in a new tank, no matter how careful you are, sometime in the future, you get another.

Managing them is not overly hard.

A copperband will destroy them forever but I’m not sure if that’s in your plan.

Well the new tank is a 200 gallon IM EXT. So far have my gem, yellow Kole, and Koi tangs going in. Also got an emperor angel and fox face with 2 clowns. I’d be open to a copper band. And yes that’s my problem with the rock. I would hate to lose it as it’s got all my critters like sponges, feather dusters etc. So I’m thinking the weight of aptasia doesn’t outweigh the benefit of all my seasoned rock. It’s probably about 100-150 lbs from my 120 gallon.

I think the seasoned rock outweighs the aiptasia issue. You're probably going to get some down the road anyway.
