How does it keep sand from getting into the bad and running around the tank scratching it? Can it sense the sand bed? And as posted above, corners?

Saw this cool invention at MACNA in Dallas last year and talked with the design guys for a while seems pretty cool, but at this time will not work on my larger tank size as I think it will only work on glass up to like 1/2" thick. This is unless they made changes since then!
