Aqua Illuminations Nero 5 Random (Not So Much) Mode Question

I picked up a Nero 5 to try out. On random with high variance the speed only changes once every minute or so. I'd hate to see what low variance does.. Anyone else experience this or is something wrong with my pump? "Simulating a high energy reef" isn't a speed change every minute in my opinion. I tried to post in their sponsor forum but it won't let me for some reason. It says that I have insufficient privileges? Thanks!

If you had 2 youd find out that the anti sync mode in random doesnt work either. Only in pulse mode. When I contacted them directly they told me it's not "random" if they work together. Which in my opinion is a cop out. Bc I dont want them both maxing out at the same time which causes a storm of sand in my tank. I switched from mp40s to the neros( I have a corner tank so the angle ability appealed to me) and mostly really do like them other than their not so complete programming.

I do have a 2nd one on the way. Does yours only change speed every minute as well? I expected high energy reef to have short surges and rapid changes like any other pump I've had does. Like my Gyre XF250s in my other tank for example.

Ok thanks. I'll have to see what the 2nd one does. I put a stop watch on it today and it changes exactly every 60 seconds. I haven't bothered putting it on an even less random setting than high.

I know it's an old thread but wanted to put my 2 cents in! The app doesn't update quick enough to show what the pump is actually doing, you're only seeing what the pump is doing when the app refreshes. If you want to know how much the pump is actually fluctuating put your ear against that outside magnet. And "anti-sync" mode can largely be accomplished by NOT running the pumps in parent/child mode, just set them up with their own settings and let em rip
