For those who use an AquaClear 70, what do you run in your basket?

I'm using the AC70 refresh with filter floss, purigen, activated carbon, biomax, and phosguard. This might be too much but I'm thinking about just transitioning to filter floss, biomax, purigen, and chemi-pure elite.

I just use some pinky filter or similar and some couple pieces of rubble rock and ocassional carbon if the tank get lil stinky thats all. My skimmer does the rest...which is hob octopus 90...ps the ruble rock keeps the pinky filter floss in place....works great to me tank crystal clear. Everytime i change the pad its full of pods but my tank been going for sometime maybe 4 years.. This tank has two differtent dragonette's...fatties

This is the same place my doser dumps my all for reef 12 times a day...right into top my AQ 70....i drilled a whole in the lid and stick tube through so it mixes right before flowing into tank

That seems simple enough. Is carbon good to run all the time or only when needed? My tank's been running for about a year and I upgraded to the AC70 like 3 months ago but I'm still learning a lot of things.

i just run it ocassionally. I try to conserve on spending extra money thats not needed. If you feel like you need it due some smell or maybe you thought you used to much super glue gel or reef putty to place a frag or maybe you had something on your hands colonge you forgot or maybe lotion. Something like that....then i use it for few days then dump it out. Also helps with chemical warfare from other corals like leathers. I just use it randomly if maybe a coral looks off or something along those lines. I just buy those (reuseable) zippered mesh bags from amazon and use the small one that fit the filter and fill it up , rinse it good and then drop on top of filter floss.

I keep a bit of rock rubble and a baggie of activated carbon in my hob filters.
