I’ve seen many threads about the HOB 1.5, but less about the Cadlights and figured I’d post a comparison for anyone in need of a skimmer for a midsized tank.
I’ve run only the Aquamaxx, then only the Cadlights, and now run both together ans the conclusion is undoubtedly that the Cadlights skimmer is the superior one. It pulls out a lot more than the Aquamaxx.
i was originally leaning to the aquamaxx after seeing its rated up to 90 gallons where the Cadlights is only 50 but don’t let this discourage you. It’s a very strong skimmer. It’s also quieter than the aquamaxx.
