Aquamaxx overflowing!

I have been running my skimmer for almost a month now and it is still overflowing the adjustment valve on the left is all the way open. Skimmer in in 9 inches it says to be between 8-10 inches. Ever time I do something in my tank like (WC, clean sump, etc.) It stops overflowing for a minute or two. Idk what to do at this point.

I believe when I was comparing this skimmer with the Vertex 150, people were having great results between 7-8.5" depth. Try to raise it up if possible. Also, are you using any medications, epoxy, foods with gelatin and have you double checked salinity?

No medications at all. Salinity is 1.024

Check for salt creep in the venturi. That's odd these skimmers never have problems with overflowing.

Where is the venturi located?

The venturi (aka volute) is that portion where the air tube meets the pump. It has a tendency to clog up with salt deposits.

Now I don't know this skimmer, but the above picture looks like the air line coming out of the muffler is connected to the drain of the skimmer cup. Am I seeing that right? And if I am, that's not right.

It does look like water is getting into the air intake through the muffler. Redirect the collection cup drain away from the air intake.
