Aquarium Cover / Lid

Hi guys, I'm wondering if one of you DIY-ers out there might have come across this before.

I recently purchased a tank (650L Cleair), which came with what I assumed was the lid pieces. Only when I came to actually installing the cover, it was clear that there were either pieces missing or it was broken. Either way, I now need to try to sort a new cover for my tank. Preferably one which I can mount my lights to (see picture below, I have to rest them on the glass).. not ideal.

The measurements are 1500mm x 600mm

Any ideas on how best to go about this? Do I get long plastic pieces like it previously had, or do I go glass / acrylic cut differently? Ideally, I want to be able to open it with enough gap to do all of my ordinary maintenance etc.

A local glass shop might be able to help and cut a couple pieces of glass for covers. If you need cutouts for cords or equipment on the back top of the tank they do make plastic back strips or you could use acrylic in the back. The LFS might also carry the plastic glass top hinges.

I know Im late to the party but I have this exact tank. Those plastic bits attached to a long fixture that housed 3 plastic tubes with terrible LEDS in them. I put 2 AI 52s on mine that are position just between those glass cross-members on the top. I took the 3 LED tubes out of the fixture and mounted them in the sump so I can a light in it that was controlled by the touchscreen on the front of the tank. Bottom line, you aren't missing much :)

I made a canopy / lid for my cleair using powder coated aluminium tubes with plastic inserts and extra bars to hang the lights cost me about 100 pounds all in (with various plastic fittings) and a bit of elbow grease and time the panels on the front are plastic sheets with carbon fibre look wrap from amazon to try to match the cupboard at the bottom which is black
And yes that's an aluminium step ladder on the top of it because it's a tall tank and difficult to get to the bottom
