I just noticed glass bonding material (maybe) getting close to the edge? This is the left side of my 150gallon aquarium.

I thought I remember hearing someone say this angle is a good way to tell if the glass is separating.. hope I’m wrong

Oh, yikes!

It’s a bit hard to tell which side of this seam is silicone, and which side is air, but this looks less than ideal, to be honest…

Is this the only seam which currently looks this way?

Yes this is the only seam that looks like this, right side looks ok. Would a better picture help? There’s no silicone on the outside of the glass, whatever is happening is in between the 2 pieces.

Are you the original owner of the tank?

To me, it appears that the tank may have been resealed, but whomever did the work, didn't use enough silicon.

Typically, when I reseal a tank, I use enough silicon where it oozes out of both sides. Then I do cleanup before it cures.

How long has the tank been up and running? I see algae so it looks like it is standing up to the test of time.

I would purchase and have on hand, all of the necessary tools to address a seam leak, should one develop.

Better pictures could help here! something’s definitely amiss, it’s just hard to say wether or not it’s a cause for immediate concern!

@Dom is correct, this tank does look suspiciously like it was resealed…
