Aquarium under wallmount tv?

Was thinking about putting my 75 under my tv. Anyone else do this? Good idea or bad idea?

Three points to consider:
The tv might throw off some heat.
The light from the tv may affect the tank.
If you have the volume of the tv very loud it may disturb the fish.

I would also be concerned about splashes, both large from fish splashing or small from small bubbles popping, getting salt on and in the TV.

salt creep is a concern depending on distance. The flashing of lights and sounds the fish will get use too. I like to believe they do

I have a tv in the basement about 8 feet away from my sump. Capacitors have blown. It's been sitting there for over a year and you can see the salt damage on the metals.

Thank you for sharing this as i will so my wife. We were debating about putting the tank under the tv but now i think its a bad idea.

Do you think that other items in the room might that? I have some relics around the "corner" that i wouldnt want to be ruined.

Don’t do it the salt spray will kill the tv.
As a young kid I use to repair TV’s and stereo’s. Back in the day people actually smoked indoors in their living rooms.
Wow it was nasty working on those TV’s covered in the smoke tar. Same with saltwater tank spray.

Just repeating what everyone has said. The salt creep and tiny little salt splashes will kill the tv.

I was considering hanging my tv above my tank but the light spill from the tank light is much too bright and distracting. I wont be able to put my tv anywhere near the tank. And as everyone else mentioned, dangerous salt creep.

I was considering the same, moisture and salt creep were my big concerns.
Only way I think it would work is if you had a horizontal surface below the tv so that the tank is not directly underneath; but that kind of defeats the purpose of a tv mounted on a wall.

I think you answered your own question about placing something under the tv. :)

Well thank you, but I wasn’t the original poster. Just had the same thought recently
