Aquatech 8800 Booster Pump pressure Issues

Hello everyone!

I recently moved my RO dual membrane 5 total stage system. And now has a longer run from the compression tank. I am unable to get the pump to bring PSI above 45. I was running 90 to 100 previously.

Before the RO system I get close to 100 psi still, however after the three filters it goes back down to 45 psi. I’m simply moving the gauge with this test.

The filters are older, however, not completely depleted. Just yesterday before the move, I was able to hit 90 psi without an issue.

I’m kind of stumped. Any help would be appreciated. I really would like to not cut my production down this far.

If I’m reading this correctly, the RODI filtration system has been relocated and is now further away from an accumulator tank?

After relocating the RODI system, you did these pressure tests? Which three filters did you test before and after?

Was any plumbing changed aside from the tap water supply, and RO product water tubing?

Correct further from the pressure tank.

Yes after moving system, I can get 90-100 prior to system.

45-50 after sediment and 2 carbon.

How did you tap into your city water to supply your RO system? Some connection types can be severely restrictive!

Also, how far is the run between RO system and accumulator tank?

50 feet. It was obviously much shorter prior to.(less that 5)

Okay, that fitting shouldn’t be a flow restriction within the system so we can more or less rule that out!

50ft honestly isn’t very far, I’ve not seen any appreciable frictional flow loss at the 240gpd my RODI system can produce at almost 50ft run distance of 1/4” tubing! — we can rule that out as a factor, too!

— I’m wondering about the booster pump itself now… does it sound any different than normal? — possibly a corroded electrical plug making it not get sufficient amps?

It was just working great last night. I am thinking about relocating it back to where it was, and discharging at the full up station.

However, I wanted to utilize hydros to make 100 gallons of water and the use a diaphragm to such the system off.

Obviously the booster would have to be plugged into the hydros and that is about 50 feet away. So either I utilize a mechanical float and turn the system on/off every 2 weeks.

Or I order a 60 foot command bus cable and connect it to and X8 power strip. Which will allow it to turn itself on/off when needing to be filled.

Am I missing a third option??

I’m not the best at automation integration, but I do know you can do Bus over eithernet in some instances…

I normally just use a through tank float valve with a manual inline ball valve for remotely filling a water tank!
