Aquatic safari: Have you visited a public aquarium?

I love to visit public aquariums, and second to that, tanks in some fish stores, which are like mini public aquariums.

I love the behind the scenes tour at GA Aquarium. You get to see the whole life support system and frag tanks they have for their reef system.

Yes and yes but need to do a better job of taking aquarium tours ..
I have taken local reefers behind the scens to our local aquarium (Abq) many times.
I had made an appoint to visit Long Island Aquarium (before he redid the reef, my profile pic is from it) and also Shedd when I ran Chicago.

I have been to three but it has been years. I will likely stop at Miami aquarium end of next month and Shedds before the end of summer

I recommend you skip that. The worst public aquarium I have ever visited from a reef keeper perspective. I wouldn't go again even if you paid for my ticket.



Orlando Aquarium - small but super nice (for a land locked region its really enjoyable)
Tampa is OK
Mote Aquarium in Long Boat Key (Sarasota Area) is nice too.

This is one I want to visit.

Attempted once on the way back to NY from FL but they only had 3PM tickets and I think place was closing at 4PM.

I go about once a year and this year was the Georgia Aquarium for my first time. I love going to them but the rest of the family is bored long before I’m ready to leave.

We were there 2 years ago and wasnt too bad but weak on selection of aquatics
