Looking forward to another BattleCorals order! I’m not planting any trees this weekend but I will be putting down 70 bags of mulch around all the trees I have in my yard.

Favorite tree is probably the ginkgo. We have a massive one that someone planted way before my time, next to the house. It's a female and so it drops berries in the fall. One of my chores growing up was raking up the ginkgo stinko berry's as they have a unpleasant smell. From that tree we have grown quite a few other trees from seedling that sprout underneath. It s leaves turn a beautiful shade of yellow in the fall.

Same, Frank Lloyd Wright planted a bunch of gingko trees in a suburb outside of the city I grew up in and they were pretty uncommon at the time. That was well before the longhorn beetle forced them to be more commonly planted.

When I walk my kids to school in the late fall the smell sits heavy in the air.
