In the beginning phases of a 20 gallon nano and would love a ruby red dragonet in the future. I’m going to get a healthy pod population before I even consider a Ruby Red dragonet, but I was wondering if there has been aquacultured ones around like the mandarins are?

I've heard they've aquacultured, but likely be more years until available. I'll be in that line with you <wink>

Unless that is your only tank inhabitant and you are dosing pods weekly as well, but if not then hope you consider supplemental feeding. Too many dragonets starve. This is a good link:

I read that ORA tried for a while to breed them but the fry are very difficult to keep alive. I’m sure someone is still working on it. Here’s an article from a few years ago. https://reefbuilders.com/2016/04/06/ruby-red-dragonet-spawned-ora/

Coincidentally, my female looks to be pregnant right now! I doubt that I have the skills needed to keep their fry alive but maybe I will learn as I assume this is not the only time my pair will breed. She just keeps getting fatter!
