I had seeded my tank with pods a couple of times, and am wondering if they have all ended up in the filters. I have a Aqua-Tech HOB motor filter and a Aquamaxx HOB filer/skimmer combine. I have 40 lbs of dry reef rock in the tank, do you suppose they have established themselves in the rock and the crushed coral sand bed ?

I run a 6" x 18" piece filter floss for mechanical filtration in my sump. When I change it out every 7-10 days, the old one is covered in pods, every time. Most pods adhere to the side of the glass or rocks. There is no way that a mechanical filter catches them all.

Some are almost certainly being sucked into your filter. I always find some in my filter socks when I change them out. I just grab them and throw them back in the tank.

Tweezers. Larger species can be picked up bare handed.
