Are these eggs?

Hi! So I’m wanting to convert my sons freshwater tank to a QT for me since I just started my reef tank back up. He is moving to a bigger FW tank. Upon cleaning out his current tank I noticed these things in the hob filter. He has 1 snail in there and only ever had just the one for about 2 months probably. Do these look like eggs or something bad like nasty bacteria or something? The only reason other things currently in there are 5 little tetras and a tiny albino catfish looking thing, can’t remember the name. The snail I believe is a “mystery snail” according to google lol. I don’t know much about any FW creatures lol I’ll probably just trash the entire filter and get a new one idk. I’m not familiar with any FW forums so thought I’d ask in case someone happened to know. If this is not ok to post I’ll delete, sorry in advance if so.

I have yet to do much research on the freshwater side of things - so I could be wrong - but I don't think those are mystery snail eggs. Mystery snail eggs (based on a quick Google search) look like white or off-white to light pink mulberries - basically a bunch of tiny circles clumped together in a pile that's sometimes pretty big and round and other times pretty flat.

My guess is these are some kind of freshwater sponge, but hopefully someone with more freshwater experience can chime in (either to confirm or to correct my guess) for you.

Thank you. So I just did some more googling and I’m thinking his catfish which I found is a albino Cory laid eggs, obv without a male present lol. They are all deep down in the filter so I’ll probably just trash it. Probably got sucked in if it laid them on the slits where the water goes in the filter or something.

I like both fresh and saltwater! Cory cats lay adhesive eggs and often on objects:

Freshwater sponges are pretty rare to see in aquariums, and mystery snails tend to lay eggs in masses.

Do you feed pellets? Those look like they might be old, moldy pellets. If not I'd guess some moldy eggs since they're bigger than cory eggs. They look kind of fuzzy, but maybe that's just the photo.

Omg my husband decided to randomly feed my sons fish and put way too much pellets in, said he was going to tell me to take them out and forgot to actually tell me . Thank goodness. I didn’t know if it was some random eggs or a serious bacterial disaster .
