Are these Encrusted vermetid tubes?

So a few of my Acros have had these weird growths where it looks like a single polyp goes rogue. but it just occurred to me that these might be vermetid tubes gone crazy as the coral trys to encrust over them.

LLooking closely it doesn't seem that there is any polyp at the tip. Should I break them off or see where it goes?

Tubeworms and will emit a fan on occasion for search of food. Can be a nuisance around coral.

IMO, they do not look like vermetid shells/tubes.

These don't look like fan worms either.

Stray question but why are your sps white?

IMO, they do not look like vermetid shells/tubes.

I don't think I've ever seen a fan worm in the tank but I am battling an infestation the small vermetid. This is a picture of what I have all over my rocks

Stray question but why are your sps white?

Low nutrients. I've been feeding more and I've turned off my skimmer but No3 and Po4 are always zeros. It would worry me more except that the corals are growing like weeds. Also the camera makes it look worse than it is.

Also that is part of my vermetid problem. Vermetifes LOVE reef roids.

I have about a dozen bumblebee snails. Oim going to find a scraper to start manually removing the things

You’ll need an army of bumblebee. It took 1 bumblebee per gallon….and about a year to see a significant reduction in those little boogers. But they definitely consume them. It just takes awhile.

I still crush the ones i can get to with bone cutters

I was hoping that the bumblebees would do quicker work. Now I think the plan is going to be crushing as many as I can and then hopefully the bumblebees can keep the numbers in check. If not I'll get more bumblebee snails but I don't have any loval source which makes it a bit of a pain.
