I noticed some small golden yellow looking things on my red dragon colony, are these red bugs? If so how do I treat for them?

Yes they are. The red bug name can be misleading, because you can usually only see their yellow butts.

Is interceptor spectrum the same thing? I have found this available online, it's the only thing I can find.

How big of an immidiate threat are the redbugs, will a pipefish or mandarin help?

The spectrum will work just fine.

Red bugs arent nearly a threat as AEFW, but they will over time cause enough irritation to the coral to kill it. Dipping in Bayer will work well too, but an in tank treatment would be better. I would not get a mandarin at this point if you are going to use interceptor, because it will kill off your pod population.

Does the interceptor kill snails, or is it just crabs and shrimp that need to be pulled out. I have about a million scutus and chitons and mini brittle stars, do I need to catch all of these before treatment? I was thinking of dosing it at night before bed and turning off feed pump to my sump and refugium, then turning them back on in the morning and running a ton of carbon. How long do I need to wait after using the interceptor before adding my hermit crabs back, and will it kill my acro crabs? I have about three acro crabs in a large acro colony that i doubt I can get out.

You should treat your whole system. Don't turn the return pump off. I had an emerald crab make it through the treatment because I couldn't get him out, but I could tell it affected him, so it had to be pretty bad.

Thanks for the advice, I've been reading that every part of the system needs to get treated so I'm going to revise my original plan to treat my whole system. I'm going to my vet tomorrow to see if I can get some sentinel instead. I read that snails and inverts without an exoskeleton do ok, but crabs, shrimp, and pods get desimated. I have a whole bunch of macro algae I can pull out of my fuge for a little while then put it back. About how long after running carbon can the crabs and stuff go back in? Do you think it will effect my carpet anemone?

You will most likely need to order the spectrum online from Australia, which your don't need a prescription for. I ordered some for dipping new frags... it took about a week to show up.

Graham, there has been a few threads recently where quite a few folks are reporting using the new versions of interceptor like the Spectrum and Sentinel are working just the same, and you can get it locally.
