I bought some and they have a really strong smell. The kind of smell that would give me a headache after a while.

I used them on my heater but then took them out because I figure they might just kill everything in the tank. Am I overreacting ? I just don’t want to lose everything to save 30$…

The ones that came on my Hygger heater started leaching black rubber after about a year. I got the ones from Amazon, rinsed them really well in RO and have been using them for a while. No issues...

If you have some concerns about the rubber leaching something, why not get the magnetic heater holder. I am using the one from Octoaquatics, but there are some at bulk reef supply too.

I’m from Canada so no BRS for me. I need two holders per heater and I have two heaters. One kit is 31$ + tax for two holders, so that’s about 70$ for 4 holders. I find that expensive. I might do it if I don’t have a choice.

It would be about 45$ for 2 Eheim suction cups but they need to be replaced often.
