Curious what kinds of parameters people keep their nem tanks at and if the results = long stringy tentacles or puffy round ones. I have seen both in well maintained tanks and also heard people say they are puffy part of the day and stringy during other times of the day.

Mine bubbled when first in the tank and then after that it's always long. I heard it has to do with lights and flow

Mine have switched back and forth at random have seen the most changes so far when changing flow and water quality. I’m curious how much flow your giving your bubble tips?

Sometimes they just want to have bubbles, other times they don’t. I think digestion also plays a part of it, as many deflate when expelling waste. Some say presence of bacteria helps, etc- you name it, someone theorized it lol

At first my bubble tip was bubbly . It has since split twice and both additions are stringy . They have been that way for a year . I think it could be possibly flow / lighting
I fed nem at first and now I do not . My clown feed it every day .

This happened to mine too - it was huge and bubbly and happy and then it split. Now both nems are stringy.

I miss the bubbles. I agree with it being unpredictable, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bubbly nem in high flow. My only BTA with bubbles is also in a nook with lower flow.
