Perhaps i am biased, but i think it is awesome to walk into the living room and see my kids gazing into the tank. My 18 month old drags a stool across the room himself to get a better view. Anyone else have pics of their kiddos checking out the tanks.

He LOVES Them!! If hes crying, Just bring him to the Tank!! He just stares into it!! Cant wait to get him his own Tank!! Great Thread!

My son is the same way!!!! He's 22 months, He has his own little chair always by the tank and honestly one of his first words fas fish... Whenever he hears the lights click on or off he runs over and points and says fish!!!

His newest thing this past week is that he is now grabbing my algea scrapper and has started to try and clean the glass... Eeekkkk

Not sure if I want him doing that, but love that he wants to be like daddy!

My 3 year old son is the same way. He helps me feed the fish. He knows all the names of each fish in my tank. Thanks for sharing!

My boys fight over who can empty the protein skimmer. Lol! My lone hermit crab is the rock star of the tank to the kids, especially when changes shells. Here is a pic of 2 of my 3 boys helping me build my canopy. ImageUploadedByReef2Reef Aquarium Forum1377176000.916827.jpg

My 18 month old does the same thing. And she is constantly yelling out the names of all the different critters when she sees them.

My kids all love my tanks. It is in our dining room so they watch them while they eat. My only problem is my 8 year old daughter, when I am doing maintnence she always seems to sit right in the way of where I need to be.

Great thread indeed, my 2 year old still says "Look nemo" even though I downsized to an 8 gallon tank from a 55 gallon tank. She also likes to help when I clean the tank.

Ya my boys love the aquariums

Boy am I glad that its not just me. My 4yr old is the reason that I got into saltwater, and the reason that I sayed in it after a tank crash. His first real word was fish and he has been a fish nut ever since. He has rubbed off on his lil sister who points at the "fsh" and is overjoyed when they come to the front of the tank.

The 4yr old and I do the tank maintenance ourselves. He loves "making water" for the salt tank and helping with anything that he can. He would rather go to the LFS then the toy store

Very much so. They love to hand feed my Tangs.

My boy is really into mine. Lol
He is six now and loves to help his dad.

love these. allowing my kids to be involved with my hobby is a major reason my "play" money is going into this rather than radio control toys. i just couldnt let them play with me when it is with a $800 helicopter. reefing is a a family hobby!!

Just awesome my son is 1 this month and I love showing him the tank I hope one day he will help me we can work on it together!

My kids are definitely into the tanks. In fact I just set up a 24 gal AIO for my oldest son (8) to begin his adventure into the saltwater hobby. The tank is finally done cycling and his first fish is in QT. He is excited about it.
