hi everyone I’m visiting Phoenix/Gilbert Arizona area. Any nice reef shops nearby? I love sps!

Kona Reef on Shea right at I 51 exit. Nice place and great staff. Not near Gilbert but if you find yourself towards North Phoenix.... they are the best around!

I do it at least once a year. If you put it in your checked luggage inside something insulated (small cooler, thermos, styro, etc), that's your best bet. TSA doesn't care, but some airlines might flat out refuse it if you make mention of it (Southwest especially).

TSA does have policies that cover it for carry-on, but that's always hit/miss and IMO not worth the time/trouble. But this depends a bit - if you're just carrying zoanthids, I'd wrap them in a damp paper towel and carry them on.

Sure, there's some risk to put it in your checked bag, so you do need to be willing to accept that. And this should go without saying, but all of this is only applicable to traveling within the lower 48 states.

I'm in surprise, both Kona shops are the BEST. Stay away from Ocean Floor at all costs, one of the old Kona guys used to work there. None of their fish are taken care of.
